Primary Objective: Leads DCBDD's digital media efforts across multiple and changing platforms. Collaborates with the Communications and Community Engagement Department and DCBDD staff in developing and implementing a communications strategy designed to further DCBDD's goals and objectives. Manages all aspects of DCBDD's brand both internally and externally. Oversees website design and content development of DCBDD's internal and external websites.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or other relevant field; Three (3) years of professional related work experience in public relations, strategic communications, and social media management preferred; An equivalent combination of experience and education sufficient to perform the essential job functions and provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.

Must possess a State of Ohio Driver's License and acceptable driving record as stipulated by the Board's insurance carrier.

Must have excellent writing and editing skills.

Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.

Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Must be able to promote a positive culture in all areas of responsibility, including but not limited to the individuals served by the county board and their families, Board members, staff members, providers, and community partners; interpret a variety of instruction in written, verbal, and picture form; complete routine forms; prepare accurate documentation; communicate effectively; maintain records according to established procedures; handle inquiries from vendors and co-workers; develop and maintain effective working relationships; handle sensitive inquiries and contacts with officials and the general public; maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position.

Skill in: Email marketing software such as Mail Chimp or a similar program; Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, Adobe Acrobat; Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, NextDoor, and YouTube; Hootsuite or a similar system; Basic website publishing skills, especially via WordPress; and, Photography, video creation, and editing skills are preferred.

Physical Requirements: Sedentary work strength level. The physical requirements of the position are identified as sedentary work, which may require the lifting of up to 10 pounds occasionally.

The physical activity of the position is manual dexterity, talking, hearing, reaching, and navigating your environment.

Ability to operate standard office equipment in the performance of essential functions (e.g. copy machine, fax machine, personal computer, and telephone.).

Other Requirements: Successful completion of a criminal records check (BCI and/or FBI) and registry/database check as required by DODD, driving record checks, and DCBDD receiving favorable reference reports.

Flexible work hours are required on occasion to meet the needs of DCBDD

Crafts and delivers compelling narratives that align with DCBDD's mission, vision, and goals across all digital platforms; Uses storytelling techniques to build connections with target audiences; Collaborates with other agency departments to develop content strategies that bring DCBDD's brand to life through various multimedia formats which may include social media, video, blogs, and other marketing platforms.

Generates a variety of content to support communications and marketing efforts, including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, and press releases; Plans, develops, and implements multiplatform strategic communication plans, and campaigns for internal and external communications.

Oversees DCBDD website, which includes creating a variety of content, ensuring that the site is fresh and timely, accurate, representative of DCBDD's many areas of work, and engaging to a variety of audiences.

Maintains DCBDD's social media accounts, and online presence; Monitors comments and messages on DCBDD's website and social media accounts and provides timely, helpful and respectful responses; escalates issues and concerns to appropriate department leadership for awareness and response where needed.

Monitors social media channels for industry trends; Conducts social media research, digital media development, and media tracking; Measures and reports on the effectiveness of communications activities to improve engagement.

Collaborates with the Communications and Community Engagement Department and DCBDD staff in developing and implementing a communications strategy designed to further DCBDD's goals and objectives; Ensures cross-departmental collaboration on communications efforts.

Recommends best practices to the Director of Communications and Community Engagement to improve DCBDD's public image.

Assists Director of Communications and Community Engagement with writing news releases and other communications content.

Assists Director of Communications and Community Engagement with organizing and directing promotional events.

Supports Communications and Community Engagement efforts with visual brand and DCBDD standards.

Research new possibilities for outreach and collaboration with partner organizations.

Works directly with vendors and other materials producers to ensure quality, timeliness, and on-budget delivery of work. This includes ensuring appropriate uses of DCBDD's logo, emblems, and graphics.

Provides communications support to other departments, as needed.

Attends meetings, seminars, and conferences, and other job-related training sessions.

Adheres to all ORC, OAC, and DCBDD policies and procedures.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
