Pizza Hut is seeking a Senior Systems Design Specialist to own and evolve our design system as a core product that powers consistent, accessible, and highquality digital experiences. This role serves as the primary designside owner of the system, partnering closely with Pizza Hut design leadership, engineering, product, and BYTE teams, to ensure scalability across our business and supporting teams building across web, mobile, and internal platforms.

This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who thrives at the intersection of design systems, product thinking, and technical collaboration. You will balance handson system stewardship with strategic decisionmaking, helping teams move faster while maintaining quality and coherence across the Pizza Hut digital ecosystem.

In December 2018, Pizza Hut acquired QuikOrder, a leading online ordering software and service provider for the restaurant industry, in order to improve Pizza Hut's ability to deliver an easy and personalized online ordering experience and accelerate digital innovation across 6,000+ restaurants in the U.S.

Combined with Pizza Hut's already existing powerhouse technology team, Pizza Hut Connect officially launched in August, 2019. This new entity is now home to all Pizza Hut U.S. technology talent and capability, spanning eCommerce, Restaurant Technology, Delivery Technology, Data & Analytics Technology. The formation of Pizza Hut Connect underscores the important role technology will continue to play in Pizza Hut's future growth, as well as our intentional focus on investing in technology talent and capabilities.

Design System Ownership

  • Own the vision, roadmap, and daytoday stewardship of the Pizza Hut design system in collaboration with Pizza Hut design and product leadership, and BYTE teams.
  • Ensure system foundations, components, and patterns are high quality, scalable, and well documented.
  • Advocate for consistency and reuse across digital products while supporting evolving product needs.
  • Measure and improve system adoption, usability, and effectiveness.

Product Thinking & Prioritization

  • Treat the design system as a product, with clear goals, priorities, and outcomes.
  • Partner with leadership, product managers and BYTE to align system investments with business and product roadmaps.
  • Balance shortterm delivery needs with longterm system health.
  • Define standards and best practices that support speed and quality across teams.

Engineering Partnership & Dev Support

  • Work closely with engineering partners and BYTE to design and deliver productionready components.
  • Collaborate on component APIs, implementation patterns, and release processes.
  • Support development teams by clarifying usage, resolving implementation questions, and identifying system gaps.
  • Champion accessibility, performance, and quality throughout design and implementation.

Governance & Enablement

  • In collaboration with Pizza Hut design leadership and BYTE partners, help shape and maintain contribution models, review processes, and decisionmaking frameworks for the system.
  • Educate and enable designers and developers on how to effectively use and contribute to the system.
  • Promote system thinking and shared ownership across design, product, and engineering.
  • Contribute to continuous improvem ent of workflows, tooling, and documentation.
  • 6+ years of experience in UX design, design systems, or platformfocused product design.
  • Demonstrated experience owning or significantly contributing to a design system at scale.
  • Strong understanding of componentbased design, design tokens, and modern frontend architectures.
  • Experience collaborating deeply with engineering teams to deliver reusable, productionready solutions.
  • Product mindset with the ability to prioritize work and make informed tradeoffs.
  • Deep knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to influence without authority.
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Figma; familiarity with design system documentation tools is a plus.

Salary Range: 109,400- $128,600 annually + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate's location, experience, and other job-related factors.
