Interior Designer - High-End Residential Location: San Francisco, CA Workplace Type: Onsite Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are a San Francisco-based residential interior design studio located in Presidio Heights, specializing in thoughtfully layered, high-end homes that blend timeless sophistication with a modern edge. Our work is deeply collaborative and highly personalized, with a focus on creating refined yet livable spaces tailored to each client's lifestyle. As our studio continues to grow, we are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Interior Designer to contribute to both the creative and operational success of the firm. This position is ideal for a designer with 2-4 years of professional experience who is passionate about luxury residential interiors and eager to expand their exposure to all phases of the design process. Working directly alongside the Principal Designer, you will gain hands-on experience in design development, sourcing, project coordination, vendor communication, installations, and client presentations. This role offers significant opportunity for professional growth and increasing responsibility within a fast-paced, highly collaborative studio environment. Key Responsibilities Design Development & Creative Support Support the Principal Designer across multiple high-end residential interior design projects Assist with concept development, space planning, and material selections Contribute creative ideas and solutions that align with project vision and client goals Maintain a strong design sensibility with thoughtful attention to scale, proportion, texture, color, and composition Technical Drawings & Documentation Produce detailed AutoCAD drawing sets, including: Floor plans Elevations Interior architectural details Custom millwork details Coordinate drawings with architectural plans and project specifications Ensure drawing accuracy, organization, and consistency throughout project phases Furniture, Materials & Finish Sourcing Research and source: Furniture Lighting Textiles Materials Finishes Decorative elements Coordinate samples, lead times, and product information with vendors and suppliers Maintain organized sourcing documentation and tracking systems Client Presentations & Project Coordination Prepare presentation materials and design boards for client meetings Assist with project schedules, timelines, and coordination efforts Create proposals and purchase orders using Studio Designer software Track orders, deliveries, and vendor communications throughout project execution Installation & Project Execution Assist with onsite project installations and styling Support photoshoots and final project staging efforts Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and trades during project implementation Ensure installations align with design intent and quality standards Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in: Interior Design Interior Architecture Related field or equivalent experience Experience 2-4 years of professional interior design experience Experience within a high-end residential interior design firm strongly preferred Technical Skills Strong proficiency in AutoCAD with the ability to produce: Accurate floor plans Elevations Detailed architectural drawings Solid understanding of: Interior architecture Space planning Millwork detailing Architectural coordination Proficiency in: Adobe Photoshop Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications Experience with: SketchUp Rendering software Studio Designer Familiarity with luxury residential furnishings, finishes, and vendor resources Skills & Competencies Strong design sensibility and refined aesthetic judgment Exceptional attention to detail and organization Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills Positive, collaborative, and proactive attitude Strong sense of ownership and accountability Ability to follow through on tasks with care and precision Eagerness to learn and grow within a highly hands-on studio environment Work Environment Full-time onsite role based in San Francisco, CA Collaborative studio environment with direct mentorship from the Principal Frequent visits to: Job sites Showrooms Installations Vendor meetings Fast-paced, detail-oriented design studio atmosphere Additional Requirements Must be located in the Bay Area Reliable transportation and access to a personal vehicle required Valid driver's license required Ability to commute regularly to project sites and installations Compensation & Growth Opportunity Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience Opportunity for long-term professional growth and increased project responsibility Direct exposure to all phases of high-end residential interior design projects Why Join Us?
