Guided by the University's strategic priorities, Student Success, University Vitality, and World Engagement, the Multimedia Production Designer (Video and Photography) is the University's lead visual storyteller, responsible for capturing, producing, and editing high-quality photography and video content that elevates the brand and advances the mission of Centenary University. Reporting to the Director of Public Relations and Communications, this role supports strategic communications, marketing, enrollment, advancement, alumni engagement, and campus storytelling initiatives through compelling visual content. This individual must combine creative vision, strong technical expertise, and collaborative relationship-building skills to bring Centenary's story to life, highlighting signature academic programs, student success, faculty excellence, alumni impact, campus culture, and the University's distinctive strengths, including its nationally recognized equine program and personalized student experience. Key Responsibilities 1. Photography and Visual Documentation Serve as the University's primary photographer for key events, academic programs, athletics, performances, campus life, donor and alumni events, and formal portraits. Capture authentic and engaging imagery of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and trustees that reflects the University's mission and brand. Proactively identify visual storytelling opportunities that showcase Centenary's distinctive programs, student outcomes, and campus experience. Maintain a high-quality, organized digital photo library for institutional use. Outcome: A strong, consistent library of professional photography that enhances the University's visibility and supports communications and marketing efforts. 2. Videography and Video Production Plan, shoot, and produce original video content for institutional storytelling and promotional use, including: short-form social media videos student and alumni profiles faculty spotlights event coverage campaign and fundraising videos enrollment and admissions content Collaborate with the Director of Public Relations and Communications and campus partners to develop compelling story concepts and visual narratives. Support live and recorded video needs for special events, announcements, and institutional priorities. Outcome: Engaging, mission-driven video content that strengthens Centenary's brand and increases audience engagement across platforms. 3. Editing and Post-Production Edit photography and video content to professional standards, including: photo selection and retouching color correction audio editing captioning and accessibility compliance motion graphics and formatting for various channels Optimize content for use across digital, print, web, social media, email, presentations, and event displays. Ensure timely delivery of polished, brand-aligned content. Outcome: Professional, polished visual assets that effectively communicate Centenary's story and maximize impact. 4. Support for Strategic Communications and Institutional Priorities Provide visual assets for campaigns supporting: student recruitment and enrollment advancement and fundraising alumni engagement internal communications academic program promotion Support major institutional announcements, signature events, and campus initiatives with timely and thoughtful visual coverage. Assist in creating multimedia content for newsletters, digital campaigns, websites, donor stewardship, and special projects. Outcome: Integrated visual storytelling that supports University priorities and strengthens institutional engagement. 5. Brand Stewardship and Creative Direction Ensure all visual content aligns with Centenary's brand identity, tone, and visual standards. Help shape and evolve the University's visual storytelling style and creative direction over time. Collaborate with communications and marketing staff to ensure consistency across all channels. Outcome: A cohesive and recognizable visual identity that reinforces trust, pride, and institutional reputation. 6. Asset Management and Technical Operations Organize, archive, and maintain digital photography and video assets for long-term use. Manage photography and video equipment, software, file storage, and production workflows. Stay current on industry trends, emerging platforms, and best practices in multimedia storytelling. Recommend new tools, techniques, or processes to enhance efficiency and quality. Outcome: Efficient production systems and well-managed visual resources that support ongoing communications needs. 7. Collaboration and Campus Engagement Build strong relationships with faculty, staff, coaches, students, and campus leaders to identify and support storytelling opportunities. Work collaboratively with communications staff, student workers, freelancers, and vendors as needed. Mentor student interns or assistants involved in multimedia projects when applicable. Serve as a creative resource and collaborative partner across departments. Outcome: Expanded visual storytelling capacity and strong campus partnerships that support proactive content creation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in photography, videography, media production, communications, digital media, or related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in photography, video production, and multimedia storytelling. Demonstrated expertise using professional photography and video equipment. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop, After Effects preferred) or equivalent. Strong creative eye, attention to detail, and understanding of visual composition and storytelling. Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Experience in higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations preferred.
