Maurice Gadson Interiors is a boutique interior design firm, specializing in high-end residential spaces in Los Angeles. We are actively seeking junior designer who is passionate, creative, driven, and extremely organized. We have a number of exciting new projects and need to grow our team ASAP!
Hours & Pay:
Position is part-timelooking for someone who can work 5 to 8 hours a day for 4 to 5 days a week for an approximate total of 20 to 40 hours per week
Pay is commensurate with experience, in the range of $30 - $45 an hour
Typical Responsibilities:
Source furnishings for projectsfurniture, lighting, hardware, accessories, etc.
Manage contractors and tradesmen on project sites (this means some early mornings & the occasional weekend)
Assisting with site measurements
Preparing mood boards, design boards, and deliverables for client presentations
Taking notes during client meetings for follow-up action items
Placing orders, requesting quotes and lead times with vendors, fabricators, & showrooms
Running general project errands
Inspecting incoming orders and organizing and returning products/samples
Assisting on installation days and photoshoots
Typical Qualifications:
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in design-related industry
You must own a reliable computer & printer
Strong organization & communication skills are essential
Knowledge of trade resources and vendors a plus
Reliable car and valid drivers license and willingness to travel to job sites & vendors, etc.
Most critically, you must be very organized and be able to follow through on tasks until completion
The Ideal Candidate Can:
Communicate clearly
Meet deadlines and work well under pressure
Take initiative and work independently and problem solve
Organize their own time well and organize others schedules (ie. subcontractors & Principals)
Handle constructive criticism
Adapt to situations in flux and have a flexible schedule
Maintain an upbeat personality under stress, be resourceful, dependable, trustworthy, and take pride in their work
