The Team You'll Join

You'll join Envestnet's Product Design team, a collaborative group focused on creating intuitive, high-quality experiences across our product portfolio. Reporting to the Principal Director, Product Design, this role partners closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to solve complex product challenges and shape end-to-end user experiences. The team values strong craft, thoughtful collaboration, continuous improvement, and a shared commitment to raising the quality of design across the organization.

HowYou'llContribute

Owns the design process end-to end from initial concept through shipping and beyond with minimal supervision.

  • Product Knowledge: Can handle complex product challenges, often involving a strong understanding of technical, development, or business aspects. Clear subject-matter expert on our product, and strong intuition on what is needed to move objectives forward. Able to consistently build consensus amongst peers and stakeholders on product decisions to drive projects forward.
  • Craft & Quality: You demonstrate and articulate understanding of layout, typography, and visual hierarchy. You deeply understand industry patterns and can identify how and when they are effective. You create new patterns as needed, and you validate them with research. You meaningfully contribute to design patterns that others leverage regularly. Designs are consistently complete and include necessary design details like hover states, edge cases, and screen sizes. Designs are pixel perfect and in line with Envestnet Design Principles. Consistently produce designs that raise the collective quality bar - in some cases raising the industry bar.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Communicates with outside stakeholders regularly. Great listener. Handles and delivers feedback constructively. Understands and articulates the project goals and design decisions made. Actively promotes company culture and values. Shares design work regularly and is comfortable presenting to any audience.
  • Action & Impact: You are proactive, and people see you as someone who gets things done. You consistently deliver work on time and actively work with the product team on the status of deliverables. You break big problems down and create a path to success for yourself and for other members of your team.
  • Leveling Up Others: You can comfortably run and facilitate design team processes effectively. Others actively seek your feedback and listen to your guidance. You have offered improvements to team processes like critiques and team meetings. Help educate others outside of the design team on the value and processes of design.
  • Independence: You are completely trusted to identify what needs to get done on a day-to-day basis and push forward on your own as needed with little or no oversight.

WhatYou'llNeed to Bring

  • 5+ years of experience on a design team actively working through the entire product development lifecycle
  • Ready to lead and drive design and experience for a product line at Envestnet
  • Experience producing and maintaining high-quality and easy-to-follow design specs in Figma
  • Passion for building a deep understanding of your products' customers, industry, and competitive landscape through independent research, customer research, and learning from and with internal experts
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and product marketing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially when brainstorming solutions and sharing your work for team feedback and alignment
  • Experience building and implementing and using AI is recommended
  • Bonus points if you have experience in financial software
