  • Help maintain and enhance the Marketing Department's creative workspace, including studio setup, lighting, and equipment care.
  • Manage and grow NU's YouTube channel by producing regular video content, optimizing titles, descriptions, and thumbnails, and monitoring channel performance.
  • Curate and supply photo and video selects for marketing, email, web, print, and advancement campaigns, ensuring consistency with NU's brand standards and visual identity.
  • Hire, train, mentor, and coordinate student worker photographers and videographers, including assigning shoots, providing creative direction and technical feedback, and reviewing their work prior to publication.

  • Operate drones for aerial photography and videography in compliance with FAA Part 107 regulations and University policy.
  • Manage image rights, model releases, and asset metadata; ensure video content meets accessibility standards, including captioning and alt text where applicable.
  • Travel as needed for off-campus shoots, including recruitment events, alumni gatherings, athletic competitions, and donor-facing engagements.
  • Stay current with industry tools, social platform trends, and emerging AI-assisted production workflows, and recommend new techniques or technologies that strengthen NU's visual storytelling.

  • Source and license music, stock photography, stock video, and fonts; maintain documentation of licenses, usage rights, and renewal dates.
  • Secure location permits, property releases, and required clearances for off-campus and restricted-access shoots.
  • Steward NU's visual brand identity by ensuring all photo and video output adheres to established standards for color, composition, treatment, and tone, and by partnering with the marketing team to evolve those standards over time.
  • Track and report on visual content performance, including YouTube views and watch time, social engagement, and web video completion rates, and use insights to inform future creative direction.
  • Provide photo and video coverage of the President's Office, Board of Directors, trustee gatherings, and major donor events, exercising discretion and meeting the quality standards expected for executive-level engagements.
  • Produce and maintain a consistent headshot and portrait library for faculty, staff, and leadership for use across web, print, and media placements.
  • Produce recurring Dean videos and academic leadership features, including welcome messages, program highlights, and college-specific storytelling for recruitment and advancement use.
  • Provide visual coverage during sensitive or crisis moments, including memorials and significant campus events, with appropriate discretion, pastoral sensitivity, and coordination with University leadership.
  • Route assets through required department, subject, and leadership approvals before publication, particularly for student-facing, donor-facing, and externally distributed content.
