Position Summary
Bryant University's Department of History, Literature, and the Arts seeks a dynamic and visionary graphic design/digital arts professional to join our faculty as a Professional Artist-in-Residence in the Arts and Creative Industries (ACI) program. We are looking for someone versed in the creative process with a passion for teaching, to proactively shape our design curriculum to align with current and future industry needs while equipping students with the skills necessary to forge a career in the creative industries. This is a renewable, non-tenure-track appointment.

Principal Accountabilities
This faculty member will teach four undergraduate courses per semester in graphic design, digital arts, and general education in the arts as needed; encourage students to blend technological tools with artistic expression; keep abreast of emerging concepts and technologies in the field, including AI; contribute to departmental efforts to recruit students; and provide service to the department and college. Courses may include: Graphic Design Studio, Introduction to Adobe Creative Suite, Design in Contemporary Culture, Art and Design Studio, Digital Arts Studio, and Introduction to Arts and Creative Industries.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
MFA in Studio Art, Graphic Design, Digital Arts, or a related field.
Experience teaching undergraduate graphic design and digital arts courses.
Technical fluency with industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Engages in a creative practice that bridges graphic design/digital arts with traditional studio disciplines such as drawing, painting, printmaking, etc.
An active record of professional achievement and creative scholarship.
Experience in relevant creative industry sectors
Ability to collaborate across disciplines within an art and design context.
Ability to inspire students to think critically about the role of art and design in society.
